Exiled Twin Embrace

Overview:
A pair of matching free standing retail display units designed as mirrored counterparts for Exiled to showcase clothing, handbags, and accessories within an immersive, gallery-style retail environment. The units were conceived as sculptural merchandising pieces rather than standard retail fixtures, creating a central viewing corridor where garments could be experienced from both sides.
Each clothing rail curves inward toward the other, with the hanging rails wrapping around visitors like embracing arms. This creates a softened architectural moment that encourages movement through the installation while framing the product displays. Integrated shelving and illuminated internal arches provide warmth and focus, allowing accessories and apparel to sit within a clean but tactile material palette.
Built using reclaimed commercial materials, the project transformed discarded BBQ components, redundant sun parasols, and recycled plastic sheet material into a refined retail system that balances circular design with premium visual merchandising.

How it was made
The display system was constructed from a combination of reclaimed and remanufactured materials sourced through MYGroup waste streams. The oval shaped shelving structures were fabricated from MYboard recycled plastic sheet material and finished with eco micro cement to create a smooth architectural surface with durability suitable for retail use. Integrated warm LED lighting was recessed into the inner arches to create depth, highlight merchandise, and reinforce the sculptural silhouette of the installation
Curved hanging rails were created using reclaimed sun parasol frames, adapted and refinished to produce the embracing rail geometry connecting each unit to its plinth.
The black cylindrical plinth bases were fabricated from consumer returned BBQ bodies, repurposed into weighted retail pedestals that anchor the structures physically and visually.
